In the past two decades, more than 150,000 CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) IDs were assigned to different vulnerabilities in software and hardware. The count of assigned CVEs grows from year to year although, the research and coordination behind remains invisible to the public.

This speech aims to shed light on the whole process, from discovery to disclosure, and provides uniqe insights to the SEC Consult Vulnerability Lab to the audience. It is of utmost importance to invest in securing the IT infrastructure and in strengthening the security awareness in the company. The latest news from the Lab are also discussed during the presentation.

The SEC Consult Vulnerability Lab is the research unit where SEC Consult conducts research projects in future-oriented areas such as IoT, automotive, smart-home and others. And the lab also provides an environment for publishing advisories.
